Valeo Partners with Technical Institutes to Launch Industry-Academia Program

Valeo has signed MoUs with major engineering institutes to offer industry-ready training to engineering students of India  

Global automotive major, Valeo has partnered with premier educational institutes to train engineering minds and make them industry-ready. It has started an Industry-Academia program to provide experiential learning opportunities for engineering students.

It has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology (LICET) and Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), IIT Bombay to support the students with the company’s latest technology and guidance.

Areas of training at VIT

Valeo will be providing training in automotive research in segments like powertrain, safety, power electronics and infotainment systems at VIT. It will also be setting up a Centre of Excellence for the purpose. It will work closely with the Institute on emerging technologies and contribute to innovating with new ideas.

LICET

The company will be focusing on mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, computer science and information technology for LICET and the aim will be mainly to impart the right skills applicable in the current auto industry.

SINE

Valeo’s partnership with SINE is to advance on a collaborative accelerator program called Plugin that offers mentoring and networking opportunities for startups working in the transport segment. The firm will be offering technical training and manufacturing expertise to the selected startups under SINE.

The global automotive supplier has additionally launched its Student Ambassador Program in India in association with Shanghai-based training institute, ShARE. It will work with the students of IITs to promote Valeo’s technologies among the student community. Students through these MoUs can also avail job opportunities with Valeo.

Valeo has been operating in India since 1997. It has around 7 production sites, a global Research and Development centre, 2 distribution platforms and has a staff strength of over 4000 employees in India.
