Premananda Nayak, skill development and technical education minister said that the training will help students build smart machines that are capable of performing tasks that require human intelligence typically.
The centre will work from the College of Engineering and Technology (CET). It will offer a six to 12 month course on AI technology. The centre will also offer training to professionals to work on issues related to AI technology in different government organisations and industries.
Python, C and C++
The Survey of Aspiring Minds-2019 revealed that only 2.5 per cent engineers have expertise in AI and 4.6 per cent have skills on coding in Odisha. To address these issues, the facility has been created for skill training on AI and coding at CET. There are arrangements to provide extra coding courses like Python, C and C++ to the students.
