Graduate students from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and data scientists have invented a software system which can detect houses and their types from already available satellite images, eventually saving time on sending teams from village to village and collecting data. The main hope is that the public agencies notice the potential of this new software system in improving the village conditions. The algorithms developed for this software can also be used in other fields other than this project.
