Students can analyse their results with NTA mentors and can rectify their mistakes at these centres
From next year onwards, free coaching will be available for engineering and medical aspirants at government teaching centres. The coaching available is for JEE entrance test for IITs and NEET entrance exam for medical studies. In addition to medical and engineering, the coaching will also be provided for management, UGC-NET and pharma entrance exams.
Test practice centres will be converted to teaching centres
As per interaction with Economic Times, the government is planning to convert approximately 3,000 test practice centres across the country into teaching centres. The centres will conduct mock tests and provide free coaching to students for renowned higher education entrance tests.
Well, the practice centres will start providing mock tests from September 8 this year but free coaching facility is expected to begin from next year. To start accessing for the mock tests, students can register themselves for the practice centres from September 1 through a mobile app.
These centres will not charge any fees to the students hence, can prove to be beneficial for talented aspirants from financially weaker sections who cannot afford private coaching. The move is likely to give competition to private coaching institutes who charge hefty fees that ultimately deprives students of rural and semi-rural areas to get admitted.
Steps to follow to register yourself
The registration for practice centres will start from September 1 to September 30 which can be done through a mobile app or National Testing Agency (NTA) website. Initially, the registered candidates will take the mock test for the forthcoming Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main) 2019 in January.
After the mock tests, students can analyse their results with NTA mentors and make corrections at these centres. They will have to register for slots at the centres through the mobile app or NTA website. Free coaching component at the centres will be available after the first set of exams ending May 2019.
Interestingly, NTA will launch a mobile app that will help an aspirant to identify the centre closest to his or her location. Recently, NTA has announced the dates of competitive exams to be conducted till May 2019.
