250 students participated in Nirmaan 2018 – an interactive session at Tech Mahindra’s R&D arm Makers Lab in Pune
Tech Mahindra hosted a campus connect program named Nirmaan 2018 at its research & development arm – makers lab facility in Pune. The program aimed to provide upskilling opportunities in next-generation technologies to students. It also supported the digital transformation journey of India by encouraging student-industry collaboration to build smart machines of the future.
Offer summer internship and projects
The company reaches out to leading educational institutions across the globe through its campus connect program. It will offer six to eight months of internship opportunities and summer projects lasting for six to eight weeks to the well-performing students.
The program also includes TEDX sessions, campus lectures, remote sessions, HACKathons, IDEAthons as well as research on crowdsourcing solutions for smart cities. Academia-industry collaboration also aims to define, design and deliver AI, ML, AR / VR syllabus sessions and educating students on design thinking and for start-up competitions.
Collaboration with universities and institutes
More than 250 students across universities and institutes including Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) Pune, AISSMS Institute of Information Technology Pune, Bharathi Vidyapeeth Pune, Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College Aurangabad and Changu Kana Thakur College Mumbai participated in the event.
The students also got a firsthand experience of how customer-centric innovation is carried out at the company’s makers lab using emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), augmented reality/ virtual reality, business intelligence (BI) and robotics.
However, this collaboration is expected to drive innovation in next-generation technologies and to ensure that the future talent pool is in sync with the changing market dynamics. This IT industry has various makers lab which aims to come up with innovative solutions and services of the future with customers, partner companies, research institutions, universities, and start-ups.
