Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi inaugurates a new academic complex & research and development building at IIT Guwahati.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati has entered into an agreement with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to set up an IITG-ISRO Space Technology Cell (STC) at the institute.
The centre would be the first-of-its-kind in the Northeast region to augment research and capacity building processes in the field of space technology, according to an IIT Guwahati press release.
It would serve as a platform for motivating and involving undergraduate, post graduate students and research scholars in space-research activities.
The centre will have faculty members from IIT Guwahati, visiting scientists or experts from ISRO, research students and technical staff, the release added.

Meanwhile, Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated a new academic complex and research & development building at IIT Guwahati on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor urged students of the institute to take proactive role in transforming the nation with the help of nanotechnology.
Mukhi also emphasized that apart from imparting education, IITs should also highlight the importance of entrepreneurship and encourage the students towards creating business ventures.
