The two institutes will explore research and projects involving distance and computer-based learning
The University of Houston has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) to boost scientific and technical knowledge through joint research.
Major areas to focus on
The official collaboration will focus on faculty exchanges, in the field of subsea engineering, offshore and onshore petroleum engineering. It will also study the process control systems and process safety in all chemical engineering fields and non-conventional energy areas.
Importantly, the alliance will cover student exchange programmes for short-term visits and learning, joint research projects, and joint academic events and activities, including short courses, seminars, workshops and conferences based on mutual interest and institutional expertise.
The partnership aimed to build and end up with logical and meaningful results and outcomes. At the MoU signing, the delegates urged to groom the institute in order to develop an international level of globalisation of research within the energy industry such that any person with any energy problem should look towards this institute.
Well, the institute currently offers undergraduate degrees in petroleum and chemical engineering and is planning to offer the various graduate program in energy-related fields.
