Educational institute has collaborated with the government to attain the vision of Make in India and to develop Hyderabad as a den of blockchain technology
International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad signed a MoU with Information Technology, Electronics & Communication (ITE&C) department. The department is under the Government of Telangana and the institute will be assisting the ITE&C in the upcoming Blockchain District.
Partnership aims to create a blockchain innovation hub
The educational institute will help them in identifying the various use cases, protocol development, incubation, acceleration and other related programs to achieve the vision of Make in India, especially in Telangana.
The government-education alliance will explore and build Proof of Concept (PoCs) using blockchain and will carry out research in blockchain Centre of Excellence (CoE). They will also help each other to bring together, other research institutions including private sectors and startups to create the blockchain innovation hub.
Moreover, the institute will act as a knowledge partner to ITE&C department in blockchain related technology innovations. It will assist ITE&C department in blockchain technologies and will also build PoC applications using blockchain for identified areas.
Emerging technologies to reshape the future
Eight emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, cloud, internet of things (IoT), virtual reality & augmented reality, robotics, 3D printing and big data have been identified to promote Telangana’s vision of becoming a leader in key emerging technologies.
IIIT-Hyderabad is not only going to assist ITE&C but is also a global partner of Ripple which is an American payment technology company. Here, the institute had partnered Ripple for its university blockchain research initiative to help shape the workforce of the future.
Interestingly, the government of Telangana is majorly focussing on blockchain technology where they are planning to develop Hyderabad as a hotbed for blockchain related development. The joining hands are expected to be a key step in enabling a technology ecosystem and these emerging technologies are the way forward to create an impact on society.
