IBM-IIT Bombay collaboration will work to enhance the field of training and building domain-specific AI agents (chatbots)
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Bombay announced that the university will join the AI Horizons Network as part of a multi-year collaboration to advance AI research. IIT-B will join hand with IBM to foster the AI research in India. However, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay is considered as one of the prestigious institutes in the field of research.
IIT-B to pair up its faculty and students
By joining the AI Horizons Network, IIT Bombay will pair up its faculty and top graduate students with leading AI scientists from IBM Research. The research will provide the solutions to develop and accelerate the applications of AI, machine learning and other emerging technologies in business and industry.
The teams will investigate new techniques for knowledge representation across documents, graphs, charts, and other forms of multi-media content. This area of research will be crucial in helping to develop new AI applications in industries such as financial services, retail and healthcare.
The collaboration of IBM and IIT Bombay will work to advance the training and building AI agents (chatbots). These chatbots are designed to aid humans in complex decision making such as making trading and investment choices in financial services.
Arvind Krishna, Senior vice president at IBM research commented that this collaboration will accelerate the pace of innovation in India. He also mentioned that this joining hand means to work together with top scientists and research scholars in the country.
Devang Khakhar, Director at IIT Bombay told that this partnership will enable the faculty to work in collaboration with researchers around the world on the AI. He mentioned that the focus will be on industrially relevant problems and will provide access to large data sets.
