All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) declared GB Pant Government Engineering College to be placed in ‘no admission’ category for this academic year too. It is the second year that they have been denied the authority to conduct fresh admissions. AICTE notification states that the college lacks facilities like research labs, sick room, common room for boys and girls and placement office. The college faculty has blamed Delhi government for the move as it has threatened the very existence of the institute established in 2007. The college does not have a permanent campus yet and operates from a makeshift campus in Okhla. An assistant professor from the college stated that with AICTE placing this institute under no admission category, the college will be shut down leaving only two government engineering colleges active in Delhi.
